" KOLKATA, India (Reuters) - A woman receiving treatment for diabetes at a state-run hospital in eastern India lost one of her eyes after ants nibbled away at it, officials said on Tuesday.

"The patient recovering from a post-surgery infection shrieked for help as the ants attacked her on Sunday night, but nurses told her it was normal to feel pain from the infection.

"On Monday, the patient's family saw a gaping hole with swarming ants in it when they lifted the bandage on her left eye."

Imagine, my eye socket filled with ants in a chaotic feeding frenzy. That is horrible. Oh, what about the pain?

That why I say, living in poor countries suck because of this sort of things.

As opposed to those excellent and world-renowned private hospitals in India? All healthcare in third world countries is a complete joke, and if you get seriously injured/ill in that part of the world, your best hope is a plane ticket back home asap.

 

Not true, there are excellent private hospitals over here and I'm sure they exist in India as well. The public hospitals of TW nations are the jokes (poor taste jokes).

You are wrong, here in Rio we have a 5 Star hospital, I say "5 star" because it used to be a hotel. Some guys bought it and transformed into a very expensive hospital, they have absolutely everything in terms of technology and medical know-how.

Only 5% of the entire brazilian population can afford it, kinda like the Soviet Union with their Communist Party Elite crap.

im not scared of insects, i do find cockroaches gross cause they crawl into like sewer pipes and stuff

yesterday i watched a video of an iraqi camel spider (the size of a small cat) eat a lizard and it made my skin crawl, but this is even worse
