Yes, such competition is planned. We need an equivalent of the CivIV HOFmod to start it though, so work on that needs to be finished first. CivBE is different enough from CiV to not be able to re-use the work that has been done there.

    Thank you "space".

Maybe that is a question for another topic, but at the point of Civ5 release I heard Civ5 is 'more primitive and simpler' comparatively to Civ4. Few key features were dropped, early version was buggy, etc. ... and 'hardcore' Civ4 players were very disappointed.

If we compare Civ BE: is it closer to Civ5 or to Civ4? Or that is totally NEW game so is really hard to compare? Can it be replacement for previous releases or still Civ4 has something which is not in Civ BE?

Is it ready for tournaments yet?

Would you be able to share thoughts on these questions?

CivBE is much closer to Civ5 than Civ4, but it has some unique features which is why we can't start a competition like that of Civ5 just yet. Some work still has to be done to make it possible to run the GotM and HoF games for CivBE in a comparable manner.

With regard to the game being a replacement for previous Civ instalments: there is a reason we still have Civ4 and even Civ3 players, each of the games has their own charm and which game to play is a matter of taste really.
