I pulled myself away from the game to work another shift in the coal mine to pay the trivial bills and rent and alimony so I can get back to the game.

I just conquered France as Germany!

Hey stop rolling eyes, really it was a challenge, having to fight french heavy cruisers with mostly pre-dreadnaught battleships is not easy! (wolfshanze mod).

She still has all her colonies left though and refuses to capitulate (damn stubborn napoleon!), or even give me the Industrialism tech I need, and Dingiswayo (zulu) is giving me problems in my african colonies.

But just wait and zee... there is more to us germans than just zunshine and zmiles :D

I won a diplo-victory on OCC as HC, against Monty, Shaka, Toku, Isabella and Charlie. It was a late victory, but I think I lost 20 turns by switching Religons and Civics. :) On Monarch.

I was at war 6-7 times with all of them, except Toku and his votes won me the game at last!

I'm learning how to do well with Charlemagne. Looks like I'll either be going for a Conquest or Domination victory. I even managed to get some use out of his UU.

Finally got a chance to really try out a specialist economy. Was running at 0% research on the slider but had the highest research rate I've ever seen. Was at war pretty much the whole second half of the game and won a Domination Victory in 1580. Destroyed Charlemegne- Rifles vs LBs, then Mehmed- Infantry vs LBs then I ran throught the other Continent with Tanks and Navy Seals and saw a few Muskets towards the end.

I got the quadruple awesomeness of Sistine Chapel, University of Sankore, Spiral minaret, and Apostolic Palace - so that all my Judaism buildings gave a gazillion bonuses each. (I was also the founder of four religions).

I was playing on Noble difficulty as America, when all of a sudden my neighbor, Genghis Khan, declares war on me. A turn later, I'm like holy ****, there's about fifty ******* guys headed towards my capitol!

However, somehow, by the grace of God, Krishna, the Holy Spaghetti Monster, Spongebob, or whatever, I managed to beat them all. How, you may ask?

Well, suddenly, out of literally nowhere, I suddenly stumble upon a goody hut in my own territory! :D I then find that it gives me 100+ Modern Armor against Khan's swordsmen. Needless to say, a major butt-walloping ensues.

I guess I just got a little lucky that time. ;)

The best I've seen from a goody hut is a free tech. I guess the tank thing is probably disabled above Noble.

I have just won a space race victory on Prince as Cathy.

I was pretty pleased with this one as it was quite a challenge. Alexander had vassalized just about everyone else and was looking for a domination/ diplomatic victory. Thankfully, I saw fit to invest in a few ICBMs for insurance purposes against the inevitable.

Sure enough, 17 turns before victory the largest land army the world has ever seen bears down on my borders. I nuked a few of the cities near-ish to the borders, plus Athens and funnily enough, the next turn a UN resolution to 'Stop the war against Alexander' was proposed by him (my heart bled). I lost a city but managed to get the war stopped and peacefully drifted to victory.

I played as Roosevelt on the Earth 18 Civs map, Monarch difficulty. Conquered all of the western hemisphere, decided to go for a domination victory. Had Future Tech 38 and 12k beakers/turn by 1932 when I finally finished conquering Europe and won. My GP farm was where Chicago is in real life and was up to size 45; between the huge size and the fact I was still in caste system while everyone else was emancipated, I actually needed almost all that future tech to prevent unhappiness.

I just won my easiest Monarch game yet. Normal size, Monarch difficulty, Fractal map, Random leader I rolled Augustus Caesar. Rome is in an EXCELLENT location, 1x hill pig, 1x gold (on river, 10x FP and iron in the BFC. Got two other good cities out and was getting smooshed by Isabella just as I got iron working. Start building Praets to knock her out and I get the random event that gives all melee units cover promo...hmm, Praets with cover and CR2 out of the gate vs archers, whatever shall I do until I hit Civil Service??

Oh I know, destroyed Izzy, vassalized Frederick and Mansa Musa all before Civil Service. Vassalized Saladin with maces and trebs to control my whole continent before anyone has even encountered the other two civs. They turn out to be Victoria (smaller but almost on par tech wise with me) and Brennus (larger than Vicki, but pretty backward).

I launched my first ever pre-industrial age intercontinental invasion with galleons loaded with rifles, cavalry and cannons against Brennus' longbows and maces. Vassalized him before he even got gunpowder. This put me over the land & pop domination limit. This happened in ~1300 AD. My very earliest ever getting domination and only my 4th win on Monarch thus far.

I won my first game on Civ 4 at Noble playing Lizzy vs. 11 other civs, huge map, fractal. I won via the space race. I'm still playing with it in extended. Trying to see how well I cn fare in war. LOL . I definately got a lot of good advice from the folks here.
