Any limit to era advances?

I'm trying to find a way to stop the eras from advancing. I love being the roman empire and I love the classical era in this game, but I am not a fan of the following eras. I was hoping someone knew a way to limit the eras from advancing. An era cap for any of the eras would actually be very hepful. Thanks!
