So let's talk about the possible new district coming up.

I'm not sure what else they could add that already is in the game. In pack 2 we got the Diplo Quarter which added a district for diplomacy/espionage. The only other aspect of the game that currently doesn't have a district fully devoted to a certain yield or mechanic is either food or tourism, unless I'm missing something else.

I don't think a food district is needed so I guess the best guess is a tourism district. It might sound similar to a Theater Square but this district might get tourism based off of appeal, similar to a neighborhood, and doesn't produce culture/store great works.

Possible buildings could be a casino, hotel, or theme park which ironically could be linked to corporations/industries game mode. :)

I was thinking something to do with transportation. A transit hub or something like that.
A district that:
  • boosts the range that traders can move
  • allows military units to shuttle from one city to another quickly
  • adds sea, road (and eventually) rail links to other transit hubs
  • boosts gold and luxuries

Maybe it could have a culture bomb effect, and luxuries within its' radius (even if they're outside the work range of a city) can be utilised.

Just brainstormin' here. (This is a lot like an Aerodrome, now that I read it back. I'll still post it though).

There are Food Market and Shopping Mall for Neighborhood. I think that's enough

The question about the new district that comes to my mind, will it be 1 district per civ (like diplom. quarter) or per city?

For a 1 district per civ it could be something like a national treasury... In line with the focus of this DLC on economy.

I wonder if the Vietnamese city names will be "more" aglicised versions of the current ones?
For example "Da Nang" and "Hanoi" instead of "Đà Nẵng" and "Hà Nội".
The tone marks are definitely not getting in, since they aren't present in any of the other civs. I'd say Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will stay as such, but everything else will be split into individual syllables.
The only point of contention will be the vowels ă [short a], â/ơ [ə as in kingdom], ê [e in ate], ô [o in boy], ư [ɨ, doesn't even occur in English] and the consonant đ [d] vs d [z]. Messing with vowels is ubviaesle not a good thing, so I'll just mention the famous example of phơ (soup) vs pho (prostitute) and hope for the best.

I will say that the social media team are back at work, so an announcement might be soon

A bit weird, having a place called Ho Chi Minh City in the ancient era!
All of the civs work like this, hence why I see no reason to assume otherwise.
Japan sets up Kyoto and Tokyo, Qin Huang Di build Xi'An and Beijing, Korea builds Gyeongju and Seoul. It's almost (Hungary gets Buda instead of Budapest) always the current names of any cities involved, not their historical versions.
Besides, the city is not even Vietnamese, having been conquered in early 18th century. So it doesn't really have to make it into the list at all.

And yeah, you've got Washingtons in 4000BC or Petrozavodsk (Peter's Factory City) long, long before you even get the option to click on the factory tech.

I could see it being a colonial office. Basically a second Government Plaza that gives a bigger loyalty boost and can only be built on a different continent from your GP/capital. Buildings can then boost different aspects of yields in cities on foreign continents.

Maybe the new district will be something like a hospital, providing growth, amenities and healing to nearby units through its buildings.

Another idea I had (well I was thinking about some districts that were already mentioned here as well) is another military disctrict. The buildings could provide combat strength for your units (either in a radius or empire wide if its a one per civ district) and later on give the city (or all cities again) automatic anti air capabilities.

To be consistent with how Chinese city names were transcribed, I'd guess there won't be tone marks, though I would love if we could get all of the vowels and consonants in - i know there's a cree lake name in the game that uses đ so at least that character should be supported, not sure if all of those vowels are tho.
Also a little off topic but /ɨ/ does actually appear in some dialects of English, like in a lot of the US and apparently southeastern England. I grew up in New England, it's how I pronounce the o's in "interrogation". Just a little fun fact ^_^

I'd guess 1 district per civ, as it only comes with two buildings, like the diplomatic quarter.

Longshot: the district and buildings aren't related. I.e. a 'green' district like a bridge, and then two buildings that are alternate buildings for existing ones (i.e. like the barracks/stables or art/arch museum options). This seems unlikely, but I am surprised multiple building options isn't something they expanded on more in 6.
