Or the total size of the CD/DVD.

Or something that couldn't be guessed.

Or a combination.

I pre-ordered for instore pickup at Gamestop. I am going to call later on today, and if they've got it, I'll head down right away. I'm expecting that they won't have it till tomorrow morning though. Oh well, patience is a virtue, it's good for me. It will make it all the sweeter when I open that box and insert that disc. That and I really need to get in as much studying as I can while I still can!

That's actually what I'm curious about as well... I ordered a copy of Civ4 for a friend and I want him to get it before he can go to a store and buy it. So I had it ordered at EB and spent the extra money to have it shipped to him overnight to his place of work. (It's an early Xmas present. So, bottomline, will it get shipped to him right away or will there be a day's delay before it goes out?

Recursively doing a md5 or sha hash on the files on the CDs/DVDs would be best... how can one refute such evidence?

Me too!! I'm trying to do as much studying as I can now, so that I can spend all my time civving once I get the game (should be here by the beginnning of November). Gonna sacrifice it all for civ!
