Anyone have issue with Civ6 always saying preparing for first time launch when booting the game?

This happened after the latest 2k launcher update. It's kind of annoying because it greatly lengthens the time it takes to boot up Civ 6. It obviously isn't my first time launch of the game, and it does it every time. I don't play this game often, but I still do play it, mostly doing the challenges. I'm not sure disabling the launcher is what I want to do, since wouldn't that make things like challenges impossible?

I have the launcher disabled and haven't had any trouble starting the monthly challenges since they launch from within the game menu.

Oh most joyous, my game now launches without the launcher and doesn't say preparing for first time launch. There is a god... or gods. NGL that was putting me off playing the game.
