AP Tests

Hey, is anyone taking any AP Tests this year?

I've finished both US History and Statistics. I think I did good on History (in spite of the DBQ question), but not so well on Stat.

If you're taking any, how did you think you did?
 
Calc AB - Rather Easy (Predicting a 5, nothing lower than a 4)
European History - About the same as my US Test last year which I got a 5 on.
Physics C Newtonian Mechanics - Still need to take
Physics C Electricity & Magnetism - Still need to take
Macroeconomics - Still need to take
 
I took U.S. History today, and it's the only one I'll take this year.

I don't think I did as well as last year (5 on the Euro History), but a man can hope!
 
CIVPhilzilla, Calc was easy? I didn't take the test, but everyone I know who took it was complaining about it.

garric, bio's monday, isn't it? Which history did you take? :)

But seriously, I think I did pretty well on the DBQ. Same with the multiple choice. And I would have done well on the third essay, except I didn't really have enough time. The second essay, meanwhile, was an absolute piece of crap. :eek:

Yes AP US.

Was your DBQ on women suffrage?
 
Yeah, I took it. I'll be nice to the AP people and not go into details about the questions. I think they had an east coast and west coast test (I'm on the east coast), so its possible that some questions differed.

Anyway, I thought the DBQ question was a pain. Maybe it was just the way it was phrased, but everyone started laughing when they saw it because they had no idea how to answer it. I kinda got what it was about and the documents helped me know what to talk about. The fact that the question seemed hard might be a good thing, though, since its graded based on how well everyone does, so, if I kind of knew what I was talking about, I'd do better than an essay where everyone knew what they were talking about.

For the FRQs, I thought I did good on the first one (I picked the first out of the two options). I had moved quickly through everything, so I decided to slow down and write as much as I absolutely could about the subject (I think that essay was longer than my DBQ). For the second grouping, I also picked the first of the two essays and wrote something about the same length as my DBQ (I think my DBQ should have been longer). I finished the essays with ten minutes left. I thought I did good with multiple choice, even though the questions seemed to be all over the place (they were supposed to move chronological, in order to help you place the period they are talking about, but they seemed to go back to the colonial period every fifth question).

Anyway, I think I did decent. I'm good at history, so maybe I got a 4 or 5. I definately think I knew enough of what I was talking about to get a 3, though, so I feel confident. :)

Though I would have prefered to write something about WW2 or communism, I thought that the DBQ was very easy to write about. The whole point was to add outside info and it allowed you to cover a large period to add what you needed. For example, I brought up Abigail Adams during the American Revolution, as well as Molly Pitcher. I then began to talk about the industrialization period of 1800s that needed as many workers as they could, then I brought in the WCTU and Carrie Nation, etc. You know what I mean.
 
The European History DBQ was about sports.:lol: It's amazing how they come up with these topics that are completely irrelevant to actual knowledge of history. Nobody knew what outside information to put in, since nobody knows anything about 19th century sports.

I think I did well enough on the multiple choice to get a 5 though, and the FRQs weren't too bad either.

Whenever I talk about the test, I'm always afraid some AP person will appear from nowhere and "invalidate my test." :p
 
I took the AP US History test today, and I think I did fairly well on it.

For the DBQ, I mostly talked about that because of the passion that came with the Revolution, women were more dedicated to staying at home and instilling the ideals of freedom into their children, and later I mentioned that with industrialization, more workers were needed, and women were the source.

I owned my second essay, but I can't remember what I wrote about.

The third essay I chose the 1950's, and the critques of the youth and civil rights activists. I tried to tie in Elvis Presley, the rebellious nature of the youth, and the later counter-culture of the 60's, haha.

I think I did well.

Well, outside info isn't really important in the Euro History DBQ. Just having good historical analysis skills will take you far.

That, of course, is why I always liked the Euro DBQs over the US ones: no need to actually know anything. ;)
 
Not taking any this year. Most of my courses are already earning me actual college credits from a community college so I don't see the point.

Could you at any point see yourself going to someehere other than that community college?

Yes, infact I'm going to someplace that isn't a community college in the fall. You don't realize that college credits articulate from one institution to another?

Not from high school AP courses.
 
I took Calculus AB and English Language. I wasn't in either class, but I've been studying calculus on my own and figured I'd test myself on the first, and my English teacher for some reason wanted me to take the English test. I'm projecting a 3 or possibly a 4 on calc, which went pretty well compared to the other people taking it (there were 7 people taking the actual class, and 6 said they bombed it to varying extents). English went badly, with my essays coming out as rambling 1.5-2 page pieces of crap. I'd guess a 2 from that.
