appreciation for the dev.

For me the patch has made the difference between wanting to play the game and not, so I'm more than happy to acknowledge the improvements that have been made.

I'm in the camp though, that thinks I paid for the game to be in at least this good a shape when it was released, so I don't think anyone on the dev team is doing anything that they weren't at least morally obligated to do.

While the game should've been patched more before release, Firaxis at least seems to have acknowledged that, and looks like it's working towards improving the game (without extra charges). Call me simple, but that's worth praise in my books.

Good on the developers.

wow forgot about this thread, anyhow just wanted to say I finally picked the game back up after the latest patch, played a hotseat game with my girlfriend till the end, very very impressed.. again I hope you are looking at these forums firaxis keep up the great work with the patches...

P.S. please put out a expansion pack instead of these $5 a pop dlc's. Now that is one thing I despise about the game. Aww well cant always be pleased with everything. All I know is unitl a pack or a massive sale ill stick with the basic ciV...

Sry, but you are wrong. You forget that they need to keep improving the game because they still need to make profit with DLCs and expansion packs.

Nobody nowdays release a game and just stop working on it.

And no, I dont think I should at "least extend a little bit of gratitude".

I do say thank you, but to the modders, who are doing a great work for free just to help the civ community. Alpaca, Thalasius, the guy from NIGHTS, all have my gratitude.

I hope you don't get the patches, because you shouldn't be. They're fixing the game for you, for FREE, and you stand there saying they don't deserve any gratitude at all.

They are not fixing the game for "free", they are using the patches to hype new DLC.

But after almost one year, the AI is still not able to fight a war. You liberate cities, only to be called a war-monger.
And that is, what you think you should be grateful for?

I appreciate that they've nearly brought it to the $50 standard and I appreciate that this is the kind of game that requires customers to beta-test the game to get it to be the best. Keep squashing those bugs!
