Ara: History Untold is currently 50% off on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2021880/Ara_History_Untold/

It is unfortunate that Ara seems to have flown under the radar for a lot of people, but it's a good game, and there has never been a better time to check it out than now. It was recently updated, and is still continually supported with substantial free content updates. It currently sits at 67% positive reviews on Steam, and the score is trending upwards, with recent reviews at 86%. It approaches the same concepts as Civilization games in an interestingly different way, and mixes in some city building elements like production chains. There's a learning curve, and there's a bit too much to manage towards the end, but this has been improved since launch, and is likely to continue to improve. It is also, in my opinion, freaking beautiful, with loads of interesting details to look at as you zoom in, rotate and tilt the camera.

If only i had my new pc already… will be in autumn at the earliest, maybe even later. But then i would love to try the game. Hopefully more people will discover Ara and give it a chance.

Ah, one question: Do the leaders in Ara actually share the same animations or are the animations unique for every leader as is in Civilization?

I ask because judging from a couple of screenshots, some leaders standing around in exactly the same pose… i have seen around 6-7 leaders in that same pose actually

I haven't really noticed to be honest, but I suspect they share many of the same animations. Overall, leaders are not really as animated as they are in Civ 5 or 6 (I haven't played 7). I feel like recent civ games have done a pretty good job giving the leaders lots of personality, and this is maybe one area where you can tell that the competitors don't quite have the same budgets. :-)

50% off is a great deal. The game is very fun and if you love Victoria 3 or the Anno series as well as the Civ series this is a slam dunk.

There is still another 6 months of pre budgeted free updates, too. This game is on a great path and there is no better time to jump in than now. 👍
