Given it was directed at the Jonas brothers, I'm kind of disappointed it was a joke.

I don't see any real problem with this. I found it quite humorous.
I don't get up in arms about jokes because they're just that, jokes. I enjoy racist humor as well, so I'm not going to raise hell because he cracked a joke about Predator Drones.
Now. Let's wait for some crazy right winger to twist this into the big gub'mit Obama dictatorship targeting its citizens with drones.

How in the world was this offensive? No more offensive than that country song where the guy talks about cleaning his gun when the kid comes over to take out his daughter on a date. Or that little 'rules to dating my daughter' that circulated awhile back on the internet. Etc etc etc. Fathers have been intimidating the guys who might date their daughters since...well since dating has existed I imagine.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty funny joke too. The point of the joke isn't "Predator Drones"...it could have worked with any other piece of military equipment. The joke is making fun of the overzealous nature that fathers sometimes use to protect their daughters. Think the dude cleaning his shotgun when you go by to pick up your date is scary? Think what the freakin' President can do!!

It's not a reflection of what I think of the man or his policies, but this joke was just not that funny and was delivered poorly. I think South Park's send-up of the Jonas Brothers was far better (although, I don't think Obama could get away with the same things Parker and Stone can), but this wasn't really any good.
It was like Bush and the WMD's joke, only instead of something really sensitive (our failure to find anything there), something really stupid (like, well, the Jonas Brothers.)
