Are specialists immune to all corruption?

Just been debating this on another thread but this could be the answer to all our problems with corruption if true.

Big cities on the outskirts of the territory that are just producing one shield can be turned over to science producers by turning as many people as possible (short of making the city starve) into scientists. The other workers as put on squares to optimise the food production so that as many specialists as possible can be made.

If it is true that specialists are immune to corruption then the science output will increase and units etc can be pumped out by the productive cities. More money can also be generated as less money will need to be put into science.

Anyone tried this and is it true?

Played around with this concept for a few minutes. In a city that apparently produces just 1 shield and 1 gold if you remove a citizen from a square that produces 2 gold before corruption on the city screen you lose both of these on the F1 overview screen.

That means although the city screen tells you that this city only contributes 1 gold to your civ this is a blatant lie! If you take one worker off a 2-2-2 square and make him a tax collector you lose 1 gold.

What is going on and can someone check this for me?

It is true. Specialists are immune from corruption. For high pop cities on the fringe of a large empire, making them reseachers or tax collections gets something out of the city. Specialist output does not show up on the city screen, only the Federal F1 screen.

For cities closer to the capital is almost always better to have them work the square unless it is an unimproved tundra or desert square.

At different points of the game, setting a single citizen to research is a good tactic. Research length never falls below 40 turns, so I can set the slider at 0% and often have the same research time as 10% or 20%. Specialists also work during Anarchy when no other research or tax collection is functional.
