Because I realized that, sadly, I am :)

All my files are in their proper folders ; all my games are in the /games directory, and I uninstall every game I've finished. I can't bear to have files sitting on the desk, they must at the very least be stored in a folder, even if that folder is on the desk.
I chek my hard drive weekly to remove anything I don't use. I HATE programs that install at start-up and pollute the right-hand of the tool bar.
I clean my browser everyday, earasing cookies, suppressing files and archive. If there's a link I'll go often, its place is in "favourites"

And so on and so on...
The fun think is, I' far from that tidy with my REAL desk, or my room.

But my GF is a real mess when it comes to computers ; she install things without looking WHERE, you can't see the wallpaper because there are so many files... Yet both of us are happy :)

Where do you rank, on the computer-tidiness scale ? :)

I make your girlfriend look like... well, you. ;)

I would rank poorly.

I call it "Organised chaos" ;)

Delete? Why delete historic games like NHL 1998 that I've had on there since... :yeah:

I only delete when really have to!

My computer at home IS VERY TIDy. on the grade of excellent.
I even check every week for spyware and such even if i DON'T have internet at home!

I figure my computer is pretty tidy. All games in the games folder, all uni-related work in one, and so on. Nothing except the standard stuff and a few shortcuts on the desktop

What I have given up on is the start menu. It's simply not worth the time to wipe all ile icons that install themselves there without my consent, so I've simply ceased to use the thing at all, except for exiting.

Disastrous chaos here. 500GB hdd and 10 mbps connection... And I never, ever even try to organize. :(

I keep everything very organized. I do have quite a bit more desktop icons than I actually need, but I keep all the folders and stuff filed. Also no spyware here at all, although I still run a virus and spyware scan every week.

Theres quite a bit of organisation with only a few icons on the desktop but eventually sections can become messy since I tend to just download new files to the same folder which means that they tend to end up in a folder with a load of civ saves in as well.

I'm like you, I hate clutter on my computer. It isn't the best computer in the world, so I don't want to bog it down with useless stuff.

Same here. The desktop looks all nice, but we you start getting into folders, it's chaos, the civ folders being in the worst condition.

No where near comp. tidy :yeah:
I-
Download all sorts of pics too resize so as avatars
Download any demo to any game I like.
My desktop is very untidy.
There are many items on my desktop I never use
I almost never delete files
and I only now started organizing the 100's of downloads/finished files...

Hmm... I rarely uninstall files, as I still have plenty of hard-drive space, but I do have a folder on my desktop where all my shareware and demos go. I'd still definitely say I'm untidy though.

i'm very messy on my computers.
MOST of the things i use are right on the desktop (not just shortcuts, but downloaded files and documents and spreadsheets too)
i've gotten to the point where my desktop has not been able to fit another shortcut atleast twice in the last few years.
everything gets installed to the directory it wants to go (usualy "progfiles/...) and i rarely uninstall anything.
both my home and work computer have games on em that i havent played in over a year (including civ), both have utilities for some internet games htat i havent played in a long time.
i keep an updated Norton AV on each, but i dont think it does much.
and spyware is a constant problem (though i think i now have a prety good grasp on it on the work computer).
i still have all my email from when i reformated this (work) computer last time. and a lot of it is realy useless junk (i do delete actualy junk email though).

I delete things that take up a lot of space and that I know I won't be using for some time or things that I've placed on CDs to save space.

I'm very untidy with my computer and I never delete anything, unless it is necessary.
