Yeah but he looked weak when he let Castro shout him down. I mean, if he's going to let Castro bully him, he will get absolutely run over by the likes of Putin and Jinping.

Too bad Yang has nothing real to offer to fix what ails the country...

Like any of them will be able to fix what ails the country without the senate.

True, to a degree. Trump is doing quite a bit to wreck the country without the House. We need someone who is willing to do anything in their power to advance the good cause, and for me only Warren and Sanders are to be trusted to do that.

Yes even nothing would be better than what Trump is doing.

I used to think Yang was an interesting candidate but I didn't realize he was a staunch supporter of charter schools so he's out for me. I like his freedom dividend idea (both the branding and that it's UBI) but that's not enough to overcome his support for charter schools.

I've been staying away from the 'Biden is old' arguments here because frankly I've felt they've mostly been mean-spirited and just a way to smear him....but....yeah he's old. He seemed to stumble from one brain fart to another, ramble on, miss the point of questions and was just super angry a lot of the time.

Warren was great, and Buttigeig looked very presidential but I don't see any policy positions from him that distinguish him. Like I don't know what he stands for other than looking like a competent leader. Castro came off as a prig by going after Biden so hard. Beto did aight and I was practically cheering when he said hell yes I'm coming for your guns. Harris came off as fake to me...I don't know what else to say but she didn't seem genuine. And I don't know what policies she has that stand out either.

They did a much better job of moderating this debate and they didn't seem to try and bait the candidates into fighting nearly as much as the past two debates which was appreciated. Still, I can't wait for the field to narrow so we can get to the substance of their positions.

It's not simply that he's old, it's that he seems to be losing his grip.

I didn't watch most of it, but it seems like it wasn't very consequential.

I think age-related criticisms of Biden are totally valid, but just need to be done tactfully. Regardless, I struggle to understand a quarter of everything the man says because his stumbling and slurring are so pronounced. Whether or not we directly link the problem to age, he is clearly burdened by some concerning cognitive shortcomings.

That being said, it doesn't look like it was a particularly bad night for Biden. Commentary I've heard says he did an ok job handling the healthcare argument (I missed that part). In the short term, I don't think we'll see much change in his support or room in the "moderate lane" opening up for the candidates waiting in the wings (e.g., Klobuchar).

Kamala isn't shaking her downward spiral. From what I saw, she was just weird and awkward. Take her Wizard of Oz reference. How do you bungle such a simple and well-known movie reference? Otherwise, she was equivocal and should really be finding better ways of casting her prosecution experience as a strength.

Warren did well. I was happy to see her outperform the other members of the top 3. I think Yang did well, too.

The sooner Harris and Biden leave the better. Obviously the nomination is between Bernie and Warren. Hopefully regardless of who of the two wins the other will be the VP, which would make the ticket very good.
I hope it will be Bernie as president and Warren as VP.

Not at all obvious. The are, saints preserve us, nine debates more and the slogans are already a bit tattered. The less hateable candidates, Booker and Klobuchar should rise over time. The weaknesses of the big three will become apparent: Bernie is a simpleton whose shtick is hating rich people; for him greed causes everything from global warming to diabetes. Warren is an ambition-crazed opportunist who snared tenure at Harvard through diversity fraud and nepotism. Once there, she discovered the system was rigged! against the little people who work hard and play by the rules: chutzpah. Biden will inevitably gaffe the unforgivable. He'll slur out "you people" or some other horrible anachronism.
The dems need some more candidates to replace the wounded; there's more than a year to go.

I really am not seeing how Bernie is "a simpleton", let alone when compared to any other potus or potus nominee of the last few decades ;)

Most of them saying they want to abolish Fracking is not going to help them in many battle ground states. Granted it may becoming more of a popular stance but I think for now, it's a losing strategy.

Naskra knows that the secret to success is loving rich people in your heart

People who vote to continue fracking need to be rounded up and put in camps. Unfortunately saying this is probably also not a winning strategy.

I am not defending it, just stating that it's a wedge the repugs can use to keep winning.

I know you aren't, but what the hell does it say about the US when people are too dumb to see that fracking needs to be halted immediately?

It won't really hurt them. At least I dont think so.

I have a friend that works in a fracking operation and he says they have to keep locations secret and have to lie to people about what they're doing in town because so many people hate fracking. Even some conservatives I know wince when it comes up because, even if you deny climate change, it's hard to make the claim that fracking isn't harmful.

What a shocker, both Castro brothers suck

and the Obama worship on display was disgusting, do Democrats pay any attention to what we've been doing to other countries?

Putin and Jinping dont appear to shout much

Or at least behind closed doors at donor dinners

Bernie knows, just knows, that the reason you are poor, ignorant and sickly is that the Wall Street fatcats and speculators have stolen. all the money - if you would just send some benevolent socialists to Washington, all will be moonbeams and marmalade. Free moonbeams and marmalade. This is a story for children, "progressives", and simpletons. Bernie actually believes it.

And he should get off my lawn.
