Steyer and Bloomberg, presumably.
3 minutes to go and no mention of the debate.
Bloomberg started with the same **** DNC has wasted their time for the last 4 years.
I missed the first 25 minutes but I believe Warren just accused Bloomberg of compelling a woman to get an abortion.
Bernie just seriously fumbled a chance to head off attacks that his plans were too expensive. He had a chance to offer up a defense of M4A and he wavered and now Klobuchar is hitting him over the head with it.
The moderators seem happy to let them shout over each other and talk way over time limit. Bernie's shouting at everyone lol
I think she overreached here.
However, the moderators are being particularly poor and the candidates are not being fun like last time, but just snippy.
This whole thing is painful.
This has been a trainwreck as far as moderation and I've been watching all of 3 minutes
I thought 'let's count up the nickels and dimes' from her was an effective quip.
Damn Buttigieg just made some really good arguments about the importance of a broadly-supported plan. It was good enough that people booed him.
This reflects the facts. The question is, where is the inherent flaw in democracy that enables it? The workers have ALL the numbers on their side. How do they consistently manage to piss away their gigantic advantage in voting power and wind up needing unions to put them back on the playing field?
I can't figure this crowd out.
Sanders: "I am opposed to billionaires like Bloomberg."
Me: Who are they booing?
150 million people have died since 2007 from guns in this country - paraphrasing Joe Biden
capitalism is tricksy
maybe they're saying blooooooomberg and booooooootigieg
They're booing Buttigieg in that example. Bloomberg has a lot of supporters in the crowd
Alright I'll go there
Bloomberg paid people to be in the audience and holler for him
Yeah tickets start at 1750 dollars that seems like a given
Even if he didn't literally pay them, the demographics in that audience who have paid two grand to attend a televised debate on a Tuesday night are going to be hilariously unrepresentative
Every debate I say 'the moderators give Warren too much time'
I just realized that's because Warren fully takes advantage of their squishiness and just takes the time. They still suck but she's elevated the mic-steal to an art form.
Holy god Bloomberg just tried to be funny and even his personal posse didn't laugh. Warren stabs him every time she opens her mouth.
Bernie. The billionaires have done great PR in the last few weeks with throwaway lines like 'Bezos funds 10 bil to combat climate change' and Bloomberg crying over being vandalized. People are going 'where are the Billionaires shouldn't exist guys now?'
Especially if they charge to get in. 1.75k isn't insurmountable for a few Bernie supporters, but it does weed them out to those who have that money to spend and those are typically solid pro-billionaires, even if they're pro-regulation or a bit cautious about stuff like money in politics.
PROTIP: If every candidate goes over your time limit, your time limit is too [censored] short.
Well, personally, I don't think soulless plutocrats should be running for political office, regardless of which party they feign membership for convenience of.
