argh! i can't install civ4!

i tried to install civ4. everything was going fine until i had to swap the first disc with the second disc. when i swapped discs and click ok, it gave me an error that said something like "feature transfer error. error: catastrophic" and then it exited without installing. i tried installing civ4 on another computer but i got the same error. can anyone please help me to install civ4. any help is appreciated.

If you got the same error on another PC - you have corrupt disc(s), its return to Vendor / Seller I'm afraid .....

A number of these have surfaced in the last 2/3 weeks, there seems to be a bad production batch out there somewhere.
