Does anyone know how the game handles bombardments. I have changed the number of hitpoints that units have in the game (5, 7, 10, 15), but arty units still only take away one hp (if any). This really makes them worthless. Is their a way to increase the number of hp's a successful bombard round takes away?

BTW - I don't think it is something so simple as bombard strength, I have catapults @ 2 and cannons @ 4, but still, 1hp per successful bombardment.
 
Does Rate of Fire have anything to do with how many hit points of damage are inflicted? I think I've read other posts where people have talked about inflicting multiple hit points of damage with one bombardment.
 
Hi, I am new to this modding of Civ3 and would please like to know is what program I can use to change the hp's of certain weapons.

The thing I'm annoyed about in the game is, if you have modern armour going up against 1 infantry, he can be on 1 red bar left with me on full green and the infantry still beats my modern armour???

The same goes for a Battleship, Destroyer taking on a Galley or Frigate.

Im sure wood wouldn't stand upto a battleship firing at it.

I have made some exteme edits to the units in civ3. Modern armor is 117,54,4! (I haven't got the late industrial ages / modern times fully tweeked yet, but you get the point...no more trouble with spear men). I have done similar things to the BBs, and DDs. The FFs are 7,7 , the DDs are 33,33 and the man of war (no longer a special unit) is 12,12. However, this still doens't work as well as I'd hope (It worked EXCELLENT in civ2 with the hit points and firepower system... I REALLY want that back). I still have DDs getting half damaged to man of wars. I chalk this up to the unit being tired after the attack, getting attacked when not ready, low on ammunition/fuel/food/supplies etc.

If their is intrest, I'll place my rules file as a modpack once I tweek it more.
