We have documentation of the building of the Great Wall, so that is a stupid example. Also, absolute despots like the pharaoh and the king of Chichen Itza could easily summon enough labor to build the Pyramids and El Castillo.

It's not a stupid example. The point is that if the Noachim Flood really happened when YECs said it did, the population of the earth would not have built back up fast enough for such ancient large labor projects.

Well.. if someone believes that a supernatural entity created the Universe in 6 days, would it be a big scretch to believe that the same entity was responsible for some of the wonders quoted above?

when some of them are devoted to the worship of competing dieties?

Except the Bible doesn't mention those specifically.

That too. Although they wouldn't see them as "competing" entities.

well THANK YOU FOR SPOILING MY SURPRISE!

;)

True.

I've just seen the "God must have done it" argument enough..

I mean, God building the pyramids himself sounds like a ludicrous idea to just about anyone.. but then again, God creating the Universe in 6 days sounds like a ludicrous idea to the sane of us here. So there ya go!

Well, it's not like there were any YECs answering your question.

I wouldn't find it ludicrous at all . . . if the earth weren't clearly so much older.

Yeah, I guess they all smelt the rat!

There is a nice calculation floating around on the net showing that the pyramids would have to have been built by some 24 people if the flood story was true :p
