France also does not support the formation of organized religion similiar to that of the Catholic church, to enforce such a title of HRE. The French government completely disregards religion in general.

And who says we have to keep the old title of HRE? We can change it if you have that much of a problem with it.

What purpose would it serve anyway? To unify european nations?! France would never agree to such a thing. The destruction of national identity and national soveriegnty is what the emperor of France sees in this.
