Assorted unit animation bugs

From time to time I see the following in Warlords, and have seen most or all in vanilla (I don't remember exactly). None of them happens frequently or even consistently as far as I know.
  • In combat, units are invisible. This may apply only to stacks. In vanilla, I used to see this when attacking with large stacks. It may apply only when I am being attacked in 2.08.
  • In combat, units appear to fire from two or more tiles away. It's cute ... arrows or spears or whatever flying over hills and grasslands. I think the units are actually in a normal position - but for some reason they appear far away.
  • Workers zip back and forth "backtracking" when moving short distances over roads
  • Units look weird when moving, sort of slowly "gliding" along, sometimes over the wrong tiles
I don't think any of these has any effect on gameplay. I find it hard to believe that the game can even do the "long range" thing.
 
Well, the worker thing may be just trying to get into a jungle with :move: to spare. For example: worker in grassland, no road. Road it directly to the west. Jungle with road is to north. Worker moves to road (-1 :move:) and then into the jungle
(-1/2 OR 1/3 :move:, depending on techs aquired) with 1/2 or 2/3 :move: to spare.
But sometimes this does happen when it shouldn't.
