ATI Mobility Radeon 9600??

Does anyone think the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 will work with this game? Has anyone played Pirates! with this card? How did it run?

I have this card and just went over to Dell and updated my drivers. I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop.

There is a site suggested from here to check your rig. I think it's www.srtest.com

It told me it would run fine, just to maybe update the drivers.

I'm using a 9550, though not Mobility, and Pirates runs just fine. There's a thread around here somewhere that states the minimum will be something like a 7800, again not Mobility, so you should be OK.

That card sounds totally overqualified. Meanwhile, I will be attempting to run it on my ATI Radeon Mobility 7500.

I have the same card. Pirates works and so will Civ4! It's a beautiful thing

Don't even stress over it. You'll be more than fine.

I have an old Alienware laptop which uses that vid card and I have played Pirates! on it at full detail with no lag whatsoever. I am sure it will also be able to play Civ IV with little lag in SP. Not sure about MP since many other things are involved in MP lag.

So if you are going to use it for SP, I wouldn't worry about it.

i got even an older radeon 9000 mobility with 32mb. i'm a little worried that it will not run well with civ4, although it ran pirates! at low level graphical settings with almost no problems.

only almost no problems because it had issues when displaying some indoor sequences like the tavern and stuff. parts of the model would not be visible anymore, from what i remember it was a problem with ATI cards in general.

i've got a radeon mobility 9700 which is only slightly faster than your radeon mobility 9600 and pirates runs pretty smoothly even at highest details...
