    Just read this slashdot.org headline:

Ships Turned Away As Aussie Customs' IT System Melts Down

Urgent shipments of medicine and goods for the holiday season have been turned away by customs officials due to a massive computer problem.

I think that Civ IV clearly falls in the category of urgent goods and for some of you addicts even in the medical one. I hope for you guys down there that they will solve this problem quickly ;) .

    Greetings,
    Rince

Settle down people! Stay calm! Put the container on the wharf and back away. Move along now, nothing to see here.

Actually Customs are having a bit of trouble, but it is not quite as sensational as a meltdown. Things are moving slower, but goods will keep coming through. According to the big retailers Christmas depends on it. :jesus:

(Hopefully that link works. If not try Google a Google news search with "Australian Customs")

As long as Civ 4 isn't being shipped through Sydney where it is worst, we should be right to have it by Christmas :)

As long as the shipment doesn't come from Canada. Otherwise they'll label it bird flu infected and take the lot for themselves. ;)

No, No, No, No, No, NO!!!!!!! It will be here on NOVEMBER 3rd, no later. If it is, then I will have no choice but to go out on a massive killing spree until my desire for Civ4 is SATISFIED!!!!!!!

 Bugger! You live in the same city. Do you want to move to Brisbane or Melbourne in the period up to release? No one really cares about them.:mischief:

Did I miss something in the news?

I thought that Australia would be a lot closer to ground zero for the bird flu than Canada would be, seeing it is coming out of southeast asia.

Neither of you have anything to fear, as you are fellow Civers. Only UNBELIEVERS shall perish on that day, as it will be clearly THEIR SINS which will be keeping CivIV from our land!!! ;)

Of course, he would everyone knows the secret civ questions

The best way to beat a Tank is with? (a spearman)
Our words are backed with? (nuclear weapons)
When are you planning to retire? (2050)...this question is on the verge of low utility however

    No, that was Snowtown.

The last interesting thing to happen in Adelaide was a dog ran around in circles chasing its' tail as a tumbleweed drifted gently by.

    Whew! :)

I just read the review to civ4, not only can a spearman still beat a tank, but knights can take out helicopters. Being Aussie he might ask civ4 questions like which tech unlocks hinduism or what civic give you +1 health.
S**t, i better look it up just in case:) !

What's the story. Has it arrived? I have not been able to bring myself to bother checking before now as I could not stand the anticipation. That and the fact the Spring Carnival has been on. But the Melbourne Cup has been ran and won, so now I need something to replace betting on the horses. Civ's a lot cheaper than spending your Saturday's in the pub backing whoever takes your fancy.

I'll do some research, myself (and ring a games shop).
