Ever since purchasing this game, I've been wondering why the Aussies weren't included. So I went to work to build a modpack for them. It isn't much yet... but if I find a bit more inspiration, I'll make it something more.

Essentially, it replaces the Greeks (sorry if you're a fan of the Greeks, but Alexander looked the most to me like Edmund Barton out of all the rulers. If I can get the Civ III Copy tool to work, then I'll remake the mod without cutting out the Greeks). Here are the specifics...

Scientific, Industrious

Ruler: Prime Minister Barton

Unique Unit: Anzac (replaces Infantry... 8, 10, 2)

If anyone can tell me how to copy civs and units with the Copy Tool and actually make them work for the game, please tell me so I can get to work to correct the problem where the Greeks and the Hoplite are omitted.

Attachment out after 13 downloads.

While I am a Malaysian, I do have some interest in Australia as one of my sister-in-law is an Australian (Ok, so the other is a British, my brothers love non-malaysian, heh) ;)

To copy a unit is really a piece of cake in Civ3 with either Gramphos' Civ3CopyTool or the hacked Civ3Edit. Using the C3CT it will duplicate a unit for you and even create the folder for you and let you use all the graphic of the old unit you duplicated for the new unit. After that you just need to use the normal Civ3Edit to modified the stats of the new unit you created. :D

Oh, by the way this should belong to the completed modpack section so more people can download it :)

Uhm... I actually know that much about the Civ III Copy tool. Problem is that bic files that have been manipulated by it won't even work at all. Is this just on my system or are others experiencing the same problem?

About posting it on the completed modpack section... I'll be waiting until I can make the Australians an extra civilization rather than a replacement of the Greeks.

Thanks anyway...

Hmmm...are you sure you are using the right version of C3CT? The latest version works for Civ3 1.16f (after patch) only. I have never had any problem with C3CT both pre-patch and post-patch  And I change my mod file almost every week or so :D

Thanks for the tip. I've found that I didn't have the latest version yet. I'll try it out soon.:goodjob:

i was thinking that the UU is a little powerful? because u increased 2 stats (by a few points even) .. while i do agree with 2 movement points (these men were usually mounted infantry .. different from cavalry) and we do all know that the australian infantry soldier is the best fighter in the world so the 2 extra attack points are nice ... but i was thinking ... to make it fair for everyone else ... and put some nice realism in .... mebey if the ANZACs have "treat all terrain as roads" to represent the great victories we had in koria, vietnam, borneo, PNG, Timor, Irianjia, Malaysia, Philipinnes all due to fast movement by light infantry, tough defence and aggressive offence ..... it would have been even better to increase the hitpoints of the unit ... then it would be more like our ww1 fathers

check out this little story from a rat from tobruk

Yes. After rethinking about the Anzac, I feel that you are absolutely spot-on with everything about except for the hitpoints thing. It cannot be changed without changing everything else since conscript units have 2hp, regulars with 3, vets with 4 and elite with 5. The amount of hp a unit has depends entirely on how much experience the unit has in battle.

The latest version of the Australians modpack is now available for download in the completed modpacks forum here.

Changes since 1.0:

- Greeks are no longer replaced
- Hoplite is no longer replaced
- Several extra city names to Australian civilization
- A few extra Great Leader names added
- Anzac no longer has 8.10.2 but instead has 8.10.1 with "Treat all Terrain as Roads enabled.
- Civilopedia entries are now available for Australia and the Anzac.

What can I say? Love your work mate! And thanks for NOT making Whitlam the ruler like they did with CTP. Couldn't think of anyone worse personally.

Yeah, well Barton is definitely better than Whitlam. Nobody in the game looks anything like Whitlam anyway.
