i was building united nation, and i intended to win a diplo victory. but suddenly the game said "You declared war on Alexander" without I pressing anything. this gave me "you declared war on our friend" diplo penalty.

then i loaded the autosave (which is 3 turn before that incident) and went through the game again, but at the fourth turn it declared war again. damn

i loaded it three times and it keeped declaring war

at last i loaded another autosave (7 turn before) and the game run normally

any explanation (1.61 patch)

Do you have a defensive pact going on? if yes, Alex attacked your ally and you were forced by the pact to declare war maybe? Also I understand that this is not Warlords you are playing - since a similiar thing can happen with vassals...

yes i signed defpact but alex was not declaring war with my defpact allies

sorry, no. the autosaves are gone ( i think they automatically clear your autosaves)

i think no. i am sure because after that i tried asking my (former) defpact ally to declare war on alex but it is disabled/red ("we are afraid of their military might") and there is no "make peace with alex" section.

When I loaded autosave, the problem repeats in exactly same turn.

without the save there really is now way to tell:p

anyway an AI commits to a doWar decision well in advance of the actual declaration. After the decision it will prepare, send an attack stack to the intended target and only then declare - reloading one or two turns will not change this decision...

i still think it's a bug (or at least it isn't DP-triggered, because I checked my ally was not at war with alex), but you're right, without save there is no way to tell.

thanks anyway
