Ok, so I started a game with 12 different civs, including myself. 4 on my team, 4 on another team, and 4 unaffiliated. I began a war with one of the unaffiliated civs, Darius, and captured two of his four cities. As I was besieging the third, at the start of my next turn, the game announced that I had made peace with Darius, although I had not actively done so. Is this a glitch, or is it somehow due to the fact that I have teammates, and they made the decision for me? This happened again when I got into a war with the other team of 4. I was attacking, and then randomly we are at peace. There is no record of this in the "deal history" section of the diplomacy menu, and my peace with Darius has lasted for nearly 20 turns, and yet I still can't attack him.

I'm pretty sure that it's your team mates that did it. They can make you go to peace at any time without you having any say in it.

That's the problem with teaming up with the AI. Your teammates won't have the same diplomacy as you, so they will make peace unless there's a reason for them to be at war. The more teammates you have, the harder it is to be at war.

On the bright side, it's good insurance against invasion.
