Avatar Help - Background Transparancy

I am currently working on a Avatar for Paalikles and the trouble I am getting to is How to get the Background to be transparent in PSP.

Ill post the image to see if anyone can figure out how to get the transparancy in the back ground.

Note: The Pink Color is the Background intended to be transparent.

Note 2: If anyone has PSP4, can anyone tell me how to get it so that I can make the background transparent in the future.

I fixed it by using batch conversion in Irfran View
google the program - used a batch conversion, where I checked the option for making a color transparent - and clicked on the pink color to become transparent

Only works in gifs remember.

Hmm...I try it with gifs, but transparency doesn't seem to be an option.

ok in paint, to set transparency, you need to ensure it is a gif, and save it as one if it isn't.
then the transparency option is in image -> attributes -> transparency.

Yeah, its not there for me either

Id on't have that option either, but you can use MS Photo Editor, which I think is included with Office.
