Unfourtunately, since Civ doesn't privide thier 3D models, I can't give him a different pose/prop etc.. although, here's my attempt at making him mor shiny and better, I did most of this pixel by pixel

Umm...this is a very noobie question , but where the heck is the add custom avatar button/option?

All i can figure out how to do is have pre-defined or none...

you have to be a member for 30 days and have 30 posts (niether of which you have ) so you'll have to wait until you meet the reqs. Or you could try and persuade TF to replace the normal Num Merc with one of these but I doubt it'd happen

EDIT: and when you do meet the reqs then you can follow lyonesse's instructions

I can change the background very easily if you want something different

Or just turn the shadow on a slant (you used "Distort" for that?). On that scale, you can't notice the bumps of the dunes.

A better way to resize images with Paint:
First, make sure that an image has equal dimensions (200 x 200 for example) so that the image is a square. Divide 70 by the dimensions of the image (70/200 for example). Multiply the answer by 100 and this will give you a percentage ((70/200)*100=35%). Under the images menu in paint there is an option called Stretch/Skew. In Stretch/Skew, you can resize images using a percentage, so with your original image, use the percentage that you have worked out and the image will now be 70 x 70.

sorta, LLXeres was talking about why they lowered it (before it was 300 posts), but the reson a restriciton exists at all is because if all 40,000 memebers had a custom avatar, the server would explode, so we need to make sure only people who need them get a costom avatar

Heh. I'll probably be using one of them for November (see sig), but neither of them seems appropriate, as they're both wintery people-ish, as Hatoko seems to fit in falling soft pretty stuff (like snow or cherry blossoms), and Yukito is well, Christmas-y. I like those...

However, why are there outlines?

I'll see if I can find a picture of Hatoko in snow... or Yukito in red, white, and green.

I need help with my current avatar, please.

Here it is in the original size.

And here are the pics that I merged to make the above image, both of which were taken from the internet. The first pic, of the storm cloud, was resized to 364x364, to fit the 2nd image, the nuke explosion.

My dilemma is that I'm trying to make it look like a "nuclear ice bomb" explosion. When an ice bomb goes off, it unleashes a blast of artic-cold air. As the mass of cold air expands like crazy, it sets off an outbreak of thunderstorms. Here is a sample from a story I wrote on another forum:

*All of a sudden, there was a bright blue flash out the windows of the hangar.*

Science Advisor: What the--

*Eugene instinctively activates the engines, deploys the spoilers, and disarms the missiles.*

*Everyone in the plane, the president, VP, charlie, the Science Advisor, and some newsmen in the cabin (the cockpit door was open), ducks. As if on cue, the entire hangar blew apart, filling the plane with bright blue light. It was a nuclear explosion. The recently developed "transparent aluminum" prevented the windows of the plane from shattering. After a few moments, the light dimmed, and everyone could look up again. They looked out the cockpit to the north. To the north-northwest, about 50 miles away, in Princeton, a large mushroom cloud quickly evolved into a full-fledged cumulonimbus.*

Science Advisor: Why did you deploy the spoilers?

President: What?
*Heads into the cabin and looks at the wing. Sure enough, the spoilers were frosted over due to the artic air unleashed by the "ice-nuclear" explosion.*

For the purpose of that story, it was 50* F outside before the explosion, and this part of the story took place in Minnesota, with the PlutoCon (Plutonian Concorde) being at Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport.

Also, I use paint shop pro to make/edit images. And where do I submit my avatar collection? I still have my old avatars on my hard drive, from this and other forums, and I would like to submit them. Who do I go to for that?
