The first is the original. The second I added a snow effect.

the bigger the image/the more detail the harder it is to take it down to 70x70 without loosing something... but the more you "crop" the image the better it gets (quality wise) IMHO.

This one is kinda weird, but it's kinda like what I'm looking for. Really snow just looks bad with animation:

Yes, the CFC avatar uploader accepts .png's

Incidentally, I took one of Mistfit's and added one of the effects Lyonesse used to come up w/ this:

If it's not too much trouble, could someone add a few cracks in the pack ice close to the horizon? I'm not very good at doing that sort of thing myself.
