This usually includes copying another poster's signature, avatar, personal details, and posting style. It is generally recommended as a way of letting our hair down.

For the benefit of newcomers, you might explain that this is a CFC OT tradition in which, on April Fools Day, posters assume the identity of some other poster, by changing their avatar, signature line, posting style, etc. to that of the other poster.

Should any of you feel you can imitate my razor wit, my trenchant analytical insightfulness, my spirited bonhomie, my pellucid posting style, you are welcome to assume the Grey mantle for a day.

Those who instead find me an insufferable boor are of course welcome to refrain.
