Backing up Civ3 CD

I tried to back-up the Civ3 CD and use this backup as my source CD for playing. It does not work? Why is this happening? Is there any way around this?

It doesn't work because the cd is copy protected. Go to www.gamecopyworld.com for details of how to get around this (and play the game without requiring any cd at all).
