I like my Barb's served up smothered in Tobasco sauce and with a side order of catapult to my fresh regular troops....who soon will learn the art of war and gain valuable experience while building our nation's treasury.
This looks spot on. If there are citizens who think Monarchy is too tough... fear not! I assure you that your duly elected officials are up to the task!
I like raging barbarians quite a bit, both as a training grounds for troops (for I'm sure NONE of us want a war with another civilization!) but also to keep us from totally neglecting a defensive military presence. Such a presence will be critical for all aspects, including getting good trade deals.
I can clearly see I'm in a minority opinion on this one but IMO villagers only is much more difficult.Raging hordes just provide the experienced player with an easy method to change conscripts into elite units without ever having to attack any civ.Since when are barbarians anything more than target practice.

persoanally i think the barbs are just an annoyance and should be kept to a minimum, so one can play a man's game. (as opposed to picking on the defenseless) although i like to raid their camps and collect my $25 bucks when time get tough, i see no use for them other than the cheap promotions. (like i need target practice) but as i've said in other posts time is short. i propose one last quick repoll. ending at 5pm (cst) today. I'll make it between the raging hordes and the restless punks.
