Did anyone else realize that Barbarian archer never attack out of their camp although they have 7 ranged strength? It's too easy to take them out with warriors especially with honour SP.

Another thing are the barb galleys. They almost never attack. After taking a barb camp out my spearman was down to 2 HP and the neighbouring hex was ocupied by a barb galley. It did not attack me, I withdrew my spearman and two turns later I arrived with my archer for some easy experience.

Barbarians are by far not as annoying as in Civ IV and I think barbs are easy money. I have two to three units just for taking them out in the early game where at least one is a Chariot Archer. With the MP it can explore fast and can take empty barb camps.

What's your opinion about Barbarians?

I've had barbarians wander in beside my capital more than once, and not even try to ransack it. Don't ask me what I was doing to have that happen, but still. Took a look at the achievement list just now and I can't imagine how you'd go about getting the one related to getting ransacked.

Yeah I miss the rage virus barbarians from Civ III... those guys were tough.

Yup, no barbarian threat whatsoever, Settlers and Workers are striving through the countryside without any protection. King, "Raging" barbarians...

advanced settings > Raging barbarians.

I've been having the opposite experience; with normal barbs. Constantly fighting them off and having to rescue workers, or repair tiles.
