Basilikoi Paides production bug

    Hello,

    Have this weird thing happening when building Basilikoi Paides in a Macedon Game, happening in 2 of my cities at the same time, saying NOT PRODUCING ANYTHING, and detail city screen giving +999 turns to build in both cities... they are both at around 13-14 cogs a turn, and it's 90 cogs production cost, so...

    I HAVE built many before in the same game...

    Sorry here is saved game... Did not notice this fast enough, do NOT have a saved game without the bug sorry ;-(

    Reading the ORDU production bug thread in this same forum, seems like a similar bug and people in THAT thread have asked about the use of VETERANCY policy... I am not using that policy at the moment I realized I had the bug, but I DID use it earlier in the game, of that I am certain... Also went back to autosaves from 6 turns prior to the one I provided here, and already had the bug... guess I was too absorbed in other things to notice...

    The Ordu bug was fixed in this patch, not sure if it fixed existing saves though. Does look like the same problem though.

    Well... I can confirm it didn't fix it for my saved game... my take quite a while for me to go through another Alex game though... I hate his guts ;-)

    This defect bit me today: having the Veterancy card has made it just about impossible to complete some of my Harbors and Encampments. Initially, this card worked as advertised: +30% production on these districts and buildings. Eleven turns later, it was a 30% *penalty*. And after thirteen turns, the penalty was massive -- so I abandoned that game and reverted to the savefile I created *before* I selected Veterancy.

    I have learned -- the hard way! -- to always savefile before selecting a production-boosting card, and to keep an eye on production rates. Up to now I thought the defect was limited to the Culture Industry card but now I think it very hazardous to select *any* production-boosting card!

    On the bright side: not selecting any production-boosting cards will make playing Civ6 at Deity level a bit more challenging

    Well... it's *just* a game after all! If it were open-sourced, or if it were still being supported actively by 2k, then there'd be a new crop of defects in every release -- no such thing as defect-free code, after all... and it still plays pretty well even though there are traps for the unwary!

    This website is doing a good job of cataloguing the defects, allowing the wizardly to post workarounds. Perhaps... someday... a new section will be devoted to giving newbies an easier way to develop the knowledge required to enjoy the game without stumbling into the unrepaired defects in the final version of Civ6?? Quite a challenge... and it's not one I'm gonna attempt! Just saying...
