There is a lot more than just jungle around: flood plains are very common, there are lots of great rivers (not just the Mekong) and the Great Lake of Cambodia (Tonle Sap), very dry areas in some parts (except during the rainy season when they thrive with greenish shrubbery), lots and lots of hills (but very few 'mountains'), and many swampy/mangrove area along the coastline.
pinktilapia said:Ok, but since you are focusing in Asia, you don't need to use Nile flavoured graphics for floodplain, you could instead have something more looking like paddy fields and make good use of these throughout the southern part of the map.

. Since rice was mostly cultured in floodplains, where most if not all of the most populous cities are built, maybe make this terrain look like a mix of greenish paddies and wetlands. I have attached a quickly drawn (and likely quite inaccurate) overview of the part of Southeast Asia I am familiar with, in the case it can help.

. In Civ terms, it would be mixed with forests, jungles and a few squares of open terrain.I think Xyths MAIN suggestion regards the location of these civs on the map, particularly the Thai in regards to a state in southern China, rather than their mere inclusion. Frankly, I think Xyth has a good point with the Thai -- it would be on some level both historically accurate AND helpful to overall gameplay to place them in southern China. Though the city list would probably have to be modified so that Nan Chao cities appear before SE Asian settlements.Sword_Of_Geddon said:Most of those nations will present in the mod Xyth, especially Siam..it would be wrong not to include them..
