I created a scenario using some of the units and graphics from this old scenario… https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/the-second-korean-war-c3c-only.165096/, but with the map from this other old one… https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/scenario-wwii-in-the-pacific-redux.86322/ , with more Civs. I think I’ve got the major kinks out of the way, but I know there are many small ones, which I should be able to flush out in these test games.
I’ve got the North Koreans going after the South Koreans and Tatmadaw taking on the Burmese rebels in Myanmar. Had to create these weird alliances between them due to lack of slots in Editor.
China and Taiwan have the other slot. I’ve assigned myself the Non-Era Diplomacy tech to hopefully control and eliminate any weird wars! I get to sign MPP’s and MA’s only. Trying to start everyone with a bad economy, but China and Taiwan both have Tresure units (Middle East support and NATO support) they can use to give them a boost.
First test game report will be as the main protagonist China!
As the Chinese I will declare war on the US, Japan and the Philippines on the first turn as an iteration. I will declare war on the South Koreans, only if they capture a North Korean city and will not attack USAG Humphreys (America city in Korea) until that happens. If and when I capture Taipei, I will declare war on Australia and Canada. Depending on how easy or difficult it gets, I will declare war on Vietnam, Singapore, India, Indonesia, etc… I will bring in Russia as a partner if things get difficult. But of course, the AI has a mind of it’s own and that is the fun of Civ 3 after all!
Key Resources - No nation has all key resources, but some are only missing a few like Russia (Rubber, Semiconductors) and China (Oil, Semiconductors), USA (Rubber, Steel, Semiconductors)
Aluminum
Steel
Oil
Rubber
Semiconductors
Advanced Naval units = Oil, Steel
Motorized Vehicles = Oil, Rubber
Infantry = Rubber
Aerial Units = Oil, Aluminum
Artillery Units = Steel
Nuclear Weapons = Uranium, Semiconductors
Wanted to do something more with semiconductors which are only located in Taiwan, but it involves creating duplicate units of everything and that will take a long time to do. But for now, just using C3X to simulate that by limiting Eastern units per city and revising as needed once an Eastern nation (China) captures that resource.

2025-Week 12
As China, I am only missing Oil and Semiconductors, but no country would even give me a price for oil, even the Russians! The semiconductors I will just take. The first turn was slow due to all of the immobile units, but once they all Fortified, the next turns were faster. 80% of the entire mobile ground forces were located in the 4 cities next to Taiwan with 4 Transports each (other 10% near Vietnam, 10% near North Korea). The first step was to launch salvo of Cruise and Ballistic Missiles followed up by 4th and 5th Generation Fighter Bombers taken to the sky. (Note: I need to rename the Generations to 4th, 4.5th, 5th,, 6th and get rid of the 3rd). I could only reach Guam with the Ballistic Missiles and only God knows how much damage they did there. The rest of the Cruise Missile hit Kadena and Subic Bay. Manila and Nara were also hit as my way of declaring war on Japan and the Philippines. I landed 36 units each in between 2 cities in the north and the south, to try and capture 4 cities on the next turn.
To simulate the invasion a bit better, I left 4 random Transports full of units in the Taiwan Strait to give the AI a chance to take these out. Another Transport unit full of Marines launched an attack on the Great Kunming Island, but were unsuccessful despite hitting the defenders with a lot of Artillery.
IBT – A flurry of aerial activity as I increased the chance to intercept to 70%! 1 of my Transport units was about to get sunk by a Japanese Submarine before retreating! All navy units can retreat via C3X. This meant my large force on the island was going to get reinforced with even more units!
2025-Week 13
Enemy Special Forces (invisible Paratroopers) units have been attacking interior Chinese cities that are not well defended! I realized that I can’t build any more Special Forces units because they also require oil! I think I might change this so that Rubber is the only requirement. These are the only Ground units that can see Invisible units.
2025-Week 14
With all units in place, the attack throughout the island began. We captured Taipei, Taoyuan and Tainan!!! Taipei contained the TSMC (Smith’s Trading Company) Great Wonder and with the Golden Age achieved by a Chinese Infantry unit victory, I was now actually making Gold (+36 GPT) at 10% research. The Taiwanese capital was now Taichung.
Because I hadn’t build any new units, I could easily count the casualties after the second turn.
5 Marine
1 Fixed Trench
1 Submarine
1 Special Forces
3 Destroyer
1 Missile Destroyer
18 Disposable Drone (like a cruise missile)
3 4th Gen Fighter
1 MG Battalion
13 Chinese Infantry
2 Aerial Drone
18 Cruise Missile
2 Heavy Bomber
1 Anti-Aircraft
2 Modern Armor
6 Eastern Paramilitary
3 Frigate
1 Mobile SAM Battery
5 5th Gen Fighter
5 Mech Infantry
2 Attack Helicopter
2025-Week 15
Keeping the pressure on, the second attack on the Great Kunming Island was launched, this once again was unsuccessful, but I still had units on the adjacent tile to reinforce for another future attack. A new attack in the south of Taiwan at Kaoshiung also failed. There were a lot of degraded units in Taiwan now, we’ll have to pause a bit to recover, as I’m not going to be able to advance much further in Taiwan until my units get healthy. Unfortunately, I unchecked the “creates veteran units” box, which means I also can’t heal in Barracks. I leave most of my units out of the cities, just in case of culture flips! But I should be safe as I have more Culture overall than Taiwan.
