Battletech/MW mod collaboration?

Yeah, the Mechs fit the game board thingy better!

The only suggestion I have would be to make them smaller... however this would make the elementals too large for their size... :hmm:

Yea, the Atlas will be the largest class at 175x175, it was kind of an attempt to solve the "scale" issue in civ. That way the infantry/worker/land units look smaller against them, but we'll see how it goes as we get further into doing the units.

Sorry Bob, TRO=Technical ReadOut. The classic BTech from FASA had a ton of ref books on all the mechs/vehicles/history/equipment/etc etc etc. They sold them as a series of books-TRO's )

Oh I know that, I think its size is fine, its just that its legs and arms are blocky and its kinda fat. It looks exactly like MW2 Mercenaries Atlas, not like the MW4 Atlas. If you want to kepp it that way that would be cool, but you can use it perhaps as an earlier mech, but then edit the mech itself and make it the AtlasMK2 or something for use in a later age. That way you wouldn't have to delete the one you alrady have made, and you can just edit it (or would it be easier to start from scratch? I have no experience how to work 3d programs) and make it into another mech.

Just remember that while big, the Atlas was NOT among the largest battlemechs around. :) It was purposely designed to look a lot bigger then it really was.

All good points, and belive me, its still in process as to how to go about this. The scaling for each class is going to be relatively general (80x80 for light mechs/gnd vehs/inf MUnits, 100x100 for med mechs, 150x150 for heavy and 175x175 for assaults) but as much as I kind of like having even a "fake" scaling to the units, I'm not convinced that the Atlas isn't a bit TOO big for the game. But thats why I have a crack bunch (or is that a bunch on crack...) of guys running em thru to see how they work in game.

And yea, the Atlas was modeled more on the Atlas 1 original rather than later Atlas's. How upgrades are going to be handled in the game is still a process under discussion. But it is likely there will be some units that will change appearance based on upgrades (Atlas, Marauder etc). Again, another firm waffling "hmmm, we'll see" )

Preview of J Edgar Hovertank. Gnd units are being scaled similar to mechs to show their various weight classes now. JEdgar is a light (25T) vs the Bandit (50T)

the turrets are a fine piece of art!

Awsome turrets:goodjob:

if only BoBtheBuilder posted in this thread

One thing that irks me about the heavy turret....the lasers seem to fire too quick, then it simply disappears.

That because he put up the attack A animation (?) and since it is looping, it goes over and over. The attack B is probably a continuation, with the turret already up. Correct me if I'm wrong, ripptide.

It's lopped, and i guess the disappearing makes sense, but the laser biy still sticks...could just be me being picky but yeah

well if this comment is relavent lasers do appear to move instantly as they are the speed of light.
