BBC reporter's captors release video

And what agenda do you think they have? Be a little more forthcoming here; 'a liberal one' tells us nothing.

As far as I can see they reported the facts.

They have the opposite of fox news views of the world, "forthcoming" enough for you?

Hmm, well Fox are about as impartial as GWB, so it's hardly surprising that an impartial news service looks different to you. Kindly explain how this story shows the BBC's agenda...

The opposite of fox=impartial? I'm sure you're smart anough to understand that I didn't say antything about fox's "impratiallity", I was talking about their conservativism (US style), like I wasn't saying anything about BBC's impratiallity, I was talking about their liberalism.

First, thiers the kidnapped V captured debate.
Then, they had to edit it to say who took him
Last but not least, even after the edit they made sure to not say that hamas was part of the opartion, only "al-qassam", did you know who al-qassam were before I mentioned it? Does the average joe knows?.

I understand how impartial reporting might look like 'the opposite of Fox' but it's not. Sorry.

What kidnapped vs captured 'debate'?
What do you mean 'they had to edit it to say who took him'? Why did they 'have' to do that? Looks to me like they've just added more information later on.
Why the hell is that important?

It's not? And you still managed to miss my point.

The wording, wheter he was kidnapped or captured, and how they said on alans' and the birtish marines.
They had to do it, becuase otherwise they are delibratly leaving out the facts.
Its important becuase...Could you imagine a story: 15 british sailors kidnapped (or captured, whatever) by the badr brigade (that what, the who?), not mentioning Iran a single time.

No, it'd be the opposite of Fox if they talked about the 'fascist Israelis' oppression of the brave Palestinian freedom fighters'. They don't do that however, they report facts in a unbiased manner.

Israel says he was kidnapped, a bunch of terrorists say he was 'captured'. I think the facts are made perfectly clear, the BBC wording is "seized ...by three militant groups". What precisely is your objection?

'Deliberately omitting the facts'? Or drawing the line over what is relevant? Given that the groups responsible were named when he was originally taken, why would you consider it dishonest not to mention them in this report - a year later?

Here's the BBC reporting Shalit's capture last year:
The raid has been claimed by the military wing of the ruling Hamas party, Ezzedine al-Qassam, the Popular Resistance Committees and a group calling itself the Army of Islam
It names all three parties and mentions the fact that al-Qassam are a wing of Hamas. And here you are trying to claim that the BBC are looking the other way and withholding information.

OK you convinced me, the BBC only reports the facts, is not biased and has no agenda.

I'll concede one point, the BBC does in fact only reports the facts, which facts and how, well that is up the editor.

Is this the guy that they video taped wearing a suicide vest? If so, yeah he's being treated wonderfully. I'm sure everything he said was heartfelt and honest too. [/sarcasm] So... video taping a kidnapped non-combatant who is wearing a suicide vest... Sounds right in line with the Geneva Conventions to me.
