You know my "good friend" george bush? Yeah, we talk a lot on the phone, he listens to my phone calls... There really isn't a lot of privacy in terms of using technology anymore...Well if war weariness gets too bad they may switch to police state.
Well you know, I guess your LH(for the Americans) thought it was worthy to initiate a fast war with a low score CIV and bribe half of the high score CIVs in as well, only for the oil resources that CIV have, while America CIVs doesn't have it! Good strategy I must admit.
But it is one of those bad wars where you lose with high odds and get lots of problems with partisans after you conquer cities!
So losing in enemy territory = High War weariness + high costs! Sad but true! Or maybe the war itself is sad...But let's not get serious.
This was pretty funny for a few posts then it got political. Anytime people gripe who don't have anyone at risk or have never put themselves at risk by being in the military during peacetime or wartime, I always want to say, "Pick up a rifle, go to the front, and make your comments there." I wonder what the men and women in uniform would do to you way out there in the sand?
It's always easy for those safe and secure away from danger to be critical.
and people say the US is a beacon of freedom (well not many people say it nowadays)
So in other words,
you have no right to criticise the soldiers who are there to serve you unless you are one of them? ridiculous. And the little implied threat, "I wonder what theyd do to you"... theyre meant to serve the American people, not intimidate them into not criticising the govt...
and people say the US is a beacon of freedom (well not many people say it nowadays)
No, you can criticize. Their blood spills so you can say and do most anything you like (within the law and your abilities). All I am saying is have the strength of your conviction to say it to their face. Visit the area and get a true picture of the situation. Don't just simply rely on the press to give you your talking points -- regardless of one's liberal or conservative tendencies. I know of veterans who are for the war and some that oppose it.
I definitely respect what Jackdog had to say.
I simply didn't want this thread to turn into a political mud-sling fest. Like I said, it started out funny. Then someone had to get all personal and attack Bush. You don't have to like the man. You can even think he is an idiot. It's your opinion. But, you should find the correct forums to express those thoughts -- not here.
Besides, I like have my Civs at Universal Sufferage, Freedom of Speech, Free Markets, and Theocracy.
