First I have the Strategy Book and have attempted to create a map for my own use. Purpose: to give me a little edge (honest-not much) against AI that has seemingly been create unequal and stronger.
Problems:
1. I create a random map, do my editing, I find I can't adjust the rules unless I save the game to some place and when I reload it does not always let me adjust the rules.
2. I have saved my map to senerios for lack of a location to pull them up from the start menu of the game. When I load my game from senerios it asks whether I want to play right away or adjust the map. I always adjust because I play with only 4 civs for now. I make my adjustments then play. I find that I can not choose what advancements I want. What have I done wrong to not be able to choose which advancement I desire?
3. Am I saving my map to the right place in the first place so I can pull it up to play.
4. Finally: is there anyone out there who has created hints and tips for editing. The strategy manual (unless I am missing something) does not give enough information.
Sorry to be so novice at editing but one has to start somewhere.
