:king: Don't get me wrong I really like civ3 to but what do you think is the best part about it.:egypt: :scan: :D :king:

borders and the improved interface (compared with civ2, where to find out turns to completion of project/growth you had to go into the city window and click change, and for growth count the food. so i guess other

I like the idea of culture. Its fun to have some cities join you. The cultural border also looks nice, even with the other civ's units trampling all over it. Plus its usually interesting to have to decide whether to build temple (happiness plus culture), library (science plus culture) or marketplace (happiness plus gold).

things

1- real borders
2- one can not kill another civ in one turn
3- resources
4- the IA is far more Intelligent
5- graphics
6- unique units

So I just don't get it when people say that civII is better

Civ II was more fun, and there is more negative about the game than positive, but since you asked. . .

Besides graphics, the GOOD parts of Civ III are resources (even though we have to Edit their number up), unique units, the queue thing in city production, city governors are a little more helpful, and I like being able to establish embassies without marching a diplomat to their capital even though I miss diplomats and spies for espionage stuff. I also like the idea of Small Wonders a lot.

Borders in concept is good, but not culture borders which many hate.

Resources
Cutlure
Trade

These changes have made the game soooo much more interesting and challenging. :)

CULTURE ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

It adds a completely new perspective to empire building. Prior to Civ III, nothing defined culture in this kind of game except for architecture. Culture is supposed to be more than that. The way it grows with religion and learning, building up influence and causing other civs to get envious of you. It adds a new avenue towards victory. A new weakness if not tended to.

"one can not kill another civ in one turn"

Of course you can. Just blitz the border towns with some 3-move modern armor. Then you get instant use of the RR's, so you can usually blitz the next town with some more modern armors, and so on.... Of course it would be harder against a human, who wouldnt build cities 2 squares away from one another, but against the AI it is the ultimate strategy: kill them in one turn and u dont have to worry about counterattack or culture flip

Borders and the freedom of my soldiers who can stay out of town without making their families unhappy. Culture isn't well finished.
