No sun so no distracting outdoor activities.
But that's the case for Norway too, which is rather devoid of said companies. Maybe they found something else to do?
Sweden has that Viking Paganism/Futuristic World thing going for it. Perhaps that is why there are so many game companies there?
I was going to say it. They don't have oil, so they have to use their brain to make money.
edit: Is there even a proper Scandinavian word for tax incentive?
"You pay us so you don't find out longboats at your village" is the closest english translation. I forget the exact working though.
Nobody likes Denmark...
Yeah, i know, the language sucks. But it's nice there. Who needs tons of forests with bears and other ugly creatures in them? And who the heck needs mountains? Mountains are among the most annoying in stuff in nature...
Well, yeah, the Swedish speaking kind, on her father's side. Her mother was Swedish.
Actually the name "Moomin" was coined by her maternal uncle (Swedish) whom she lived with in Stockholm, Einar Hammarsten, professor of biochemistry at the Karolinska Institutet there. "Snusmumriken" (i.e. Snufkin in English) is a direct portrait of him pipe and bad attitude towards authority included.
Norway because of the high standard of living.
Best royal family of the three.
Sweden's one is a nutter and... French.
Norway's one is quite alright and very likable.
But power couple Prince Frederik and Mary wins me over.
That was almost as bad in terms of ridiculous TV coverage as William and Kate are now.
Suffering through it twice in a decade is more than enough.
I agree with you, good sir. Just don't tell anyone I said that, ok?[/truthful][backtobeingabloatedandarrogantswede]
Where's Finland? I voted Norway because I'm 1/4th Norwegian even though I have no other connection.
I like their wedding and I think their awesome okay! Stop ruining it for me...
Because this is about Scandinavia, not the Nordic countries.
I think both positions can be held. I am, after all, exploring ways of getting into Sweden. (Jag vet nu bara lite svenska.)
Why? For longer time or just to visit?
We are one nation with two to three languages. (But only when it suits my nationalist agenda).
Yeah, but Sweden, or more specifically Swedish, gets the real benefit of that Finnish linguistic multiplicity. There's as much poetry in Swedish published in Finland as in Sweden every year, despite there being 30 times as many Swedish speakers in Sweden as in Finland. The rate of published writers in Sweden is like 1:3000, while among Swedish speakers in Finland it's more like 1:100. Brilliant stuff.
Which apparently might have something to do with the Swedish speaking minority in Finland feeling under more or less constant threat of extinction, so they seem to go into a bit of a frenzy about using it while there's still time.
Anyhow, given the above, it doesn't seem a fluke a Swedish speaker came up with the Moomins. And Sweden did help make the Moomins, and so has a stake.
sorry for the grainy pics, this was before i upgraded my phone
You know, a Swede at times can get a little sad that his country's face in the world is IKEA...
But then I think: "Hey! It's still a cut above the image of Sweden painted in a Stieg Larsson novel — according to which we're all serial-killing Nazis."
Separate names with a comma.
