Best E-mail hosting-site-place...

i'm not making a poll, I'm asking for the right one.
My brother tells me it's Hotmail. He has like 3 hotmail emails, but if it's Microsoft,
i value it less...
My father prefers Yahoo. My original ones were Yahoo ones. They're pretty sweet, but are they the best?
I've never tried g-mail... what's it like? worth a new one? worth telling you all my
name for one?
Are there any other good places? I know there are tons of places, but are they good?
This moron at my school told me that this place I've never heard of is teh best. (but, I shouldn't believe him. He knows nothing about computers. Sometime I'll make a thread on it)

As far as freemail goes, I prefer Gmail, followed by Yahoo!, and then Hotmail.

Hotmail has served me fine for all these years. My Yahoo account was/is my Spam account, which reminds me, I must go make sure it is still working.

I like Yahoo's. Gmail is alright. Don't use hotmail too much anymore.

I really like for my email to have a POP3 access, so you'd think Gmail would be the way to go for me. But I've been so used to Yahoo's web interface that I'll stick with that.

What's this I hear about Hotmail taking out POP3 access? I haven't bothered to find out anything. Just something someone at work was talking about.

I haven't tried it, but I assume it works.

For me, I'd say Gmail, followed by Yahoo (their interface is ok), then Hotmail. I've never tried hotmail though, so I don't know what it's like.

Hotmail mainly since I leave MSN messenger open most of the time and therefore I get alerts with new messages without having a separate toolbar running. Also use gmail because hotmail sometimes eats emails from certain people.

Gmail is currently the best. I use yahoo for spam(I should also check to see if it's still working) and hotmail for MSN messenger and MSNBC alerts. Through weather your going to be able to get your hands on an invite is a whole other problem. Through there are two down sides to Gmail: It will only remember your name and password for two weeks before you have to renter it so you can skip the login screen, and the Gmail notifier can only check for mail for no less then every two minutes. I also like Gmails anti phishing stuff.

yeah the hotmail does work for MSN messenger (except for the fact that i never use that mine anymore) but so does Yahoo messenger adn Yahoo mail.
maybe google will make an instant messanger with mail alerts

I like gmail. The only thing I dont like about it is when i try to send big attatchments (> 1MB), because he fails most of the time.

I use G-mail and absolutely love it. Can't think of anything I dislike, and I really like the notifier (does a two minute response time really matter?)

Must be my internet connection then... worthless Information Services idiots... they've crashed the campus mail server several times this semester (even for a Microsoft Exchange server, that's pretty bad), their inept management makes the campus' broadband connection slower than dialup, largely due to the huge number of unpatched Windows computers on the network spewing viruses... Meanwhile they block ftp connections for no apparent reason...

After. They only recently bumped it up to 250MB to compete against Hotmail. It used to be 100MB
