Hi everyone, As a huge Civilization fan, I’m looking to dive deeper into history through books. I’d love recommendations on engaging historical reads, whether they focus on ancient empires, world leaders, or the development of technology and culture.
What are your must-read history books for Civ enthusiasts?
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums, alexmyrepal.

PhroX is right, we have a dedicated thread for book recommendations in a sub-forum of "The Colosseum" devoted to history.

But I'll give you one here (one that was recommended to me there): The Mediterranean World in the Age of Philip II by Ferdinand Braudel.

He takes a broad angle of vision that should appeal to Civ players (at least it appeals to the Civ player in me). The first 100+ pages are just on physical geography (the starting "dirt" for your civ :)). He also discusses economics in detail, including naval trade routes.

I'm not even through it. It's two dense volumes. But I've loved every minute of reading it.
