I agree with that honestly. Before I bought BTS, I was playing more C3C than I was Civ 4. The time I was putting in on CIv 4 at that time wasn't even playing really, but instead modding the game and downloading mods to make it playable. IMO 4 vanilla was very drab and warlords only added a tinge of flavor that seemed to try and mimic C3C style of play. Needless to say I skipped Warlords. If it weren't for BTS my vote would have went for C3C.

I only finally got Civ4 and have been playing it for just a few days. However, I own Civ I, II, TOT, and CIV III Vanilla, so I can only base my answer on the ones I've actually played, so as it stands, I'd say Civ 3

That's rather easily explained. Since most Civilization players accept Conquests as the best version of C3 and BTS as the best version of Civ 4 few will vote for C3 vanilla or C4 vanilla.

So C3C is standing better than C4 because the people who prefer C3 will mostly vote C3C, while the people who prefer C4 will mostly not vote C4 but BTS.

Right now it's still Civ 4 Warlords closely followed by Civ 3 PtW. Things might change though after BtS 3.13 has become history. Interesting to see the most bug-infested versions getting the highest votes. Coincidence?
