Best Seafood Capital Ever?!

Why don't I get starts like that? No matter how many times I regenerate a map, it just ends up in a desert with the nearest resource far far away... Well not always, but I never have good starts.
But yeah, it's a great start.

I hate starts like that. They're so good they suck.

It's really hard to make adequate use of so much food -- especially early in the game, and the lay of your land guarantees you not to have any hidden resources in your capital.

I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Perfect GP Farm! Simply Farm all the Flood Plains, put improvements on all the Seafood, and mine the hills. That way, all your wonders can go there, and GP points will be flooding in!

Haha, I don't really know what to do with it. I might just keep the save and treasure it forever. :D

It's using the XXL World mod i d/l'd from the Creation and Customization section of CFC. :\

And it was a hotseat game, and I take it you don't particularly want to trek through 34 civs just to get back to Louis.

(Hey, me and my mate were bored, ok? We're not actually that sad.)

:agree:

I like those starts with a couple of seafoods, copper, 2 golds and fp's and plains hills better :D

I've gotta agree, just seafood isnt as good as an all round goodness... thing.

But if I were playing as a coast-based Civ, maybe Vikings, then that could've been awesome.

Amazing gpfarm there. With hereditary rule you can use the surplus food to combat health caps and crank out lots of gp early. Be sure to get caste system and pacificism.

And be sure to move your capital inland at some point for the bureaucracy bonus and to help with maintenance.

IMO, far too good of a GP farm to waste things like maoi statues and ironworks here. There are several options ... moving the capital later is a good thing, although cottaging the flood plains and keeping the capital there can work too. I would beeline drama early. This will give this city sick production from the whip one you build globe there. My preference for national wonders would be absolutely the globe, and then probably national epic. But national park is reasonable as well. More for the no unhealthiness than the free specialists. This city could support I think 17 specialists (can't tell how many hills are there) with no health problems, and possibly another 6 with national park.

Another possibility is globe + oxford. Run caste system, with all science specialists. Settle all but one for academy in capital. Get pacifism asap, and I wouldn't mind going all out for the pyramids. A city with this much food under representation, running max science specialists, and settling all scientists will far surpass a fully developed cottage city. And since the science doesn't rely on beuaracracy, you are free to move the capital to either a commerce or production city later. Cottage up a wall street city, or make a super production city. Much flexibility.

or you could simply not settle there (no longer an option since you already did) and settle there at a later point saving you the time it'd take to build a new palace

Hahaha... I'd prefer your start Sjaramei, more for my Workers to do :)
but I do like my floodplains...
