I've seen several mods on the workshop that change difficulty settings in a way I really like - less free stuff in the beginning (especially no free settlers or techs) but more ongoing science, production, ... bonus.
I don't like it when the AI gets countless starting bonuses, making the early game super challenging, but everything is mostly decided by the midgame.
Any experiences which of them works best (with the current patch)?
