I am moving up from noble to prince. Is industrious still good on prince or not really?

List the top traits for prince.

I guess financial is gonna be the favorite, but i usually do not play that because i find it boring.

I dont think traits depend much on a level of difficultie. If Industrious suits your strategy it's good. I.g. Financial :P I like play spiritual - switching civics religions as Situation/Diplomacy requires is nice.

Check Obsolete's Insane Walkthrus on the strategy forum. He wins consistently in these guides on Immortal level, and Industrious is one of his favourite traits. Industrious is good "at least" up to Immortal level. Very underrated IMHO.

As for the best traits, as Refar says, its really strategy dependent.

Depends how you play. Like war? Industrious might not be very important then. The safe choices are Financial, Charismatic, Organized and Industrious, they are all easy to take advantage of and gives good bonuses fast. (Philosophical and Spiritual are good traits too, but they take some effort to use right)

All traits can work, it's mostly about how good you are with using them. ;)

Intersting, I always read around here industrious ceased being useful as you progressed up in difficulty. Reason being you cant get the wonders since they are built so fast by the ai.

Industrious, philosophical, spiritual and aggressive are situational. If you are in a position to build the wonders you want, then industrious is good. But if you are forced to build units, then your trait is going to waste. If you are able to run a specialist economy, then philosophical is great. If you don't have enough food to run a SE, then it isn't quite as useful. Spiritual requires that you get religions, which makes for sub-optimal tech choices in the beginning of the game or holding off on religions until the mid-game. And aggressive is worthless if you have a lonely start.

Conversely financial is useful for any situation you may find yourself. Same thing with organized. Charismatic is a better trait for warmongers because the extra happiness results in more production for military units, but also more production for other things as well as commerce. Fin/Cha and Fin/Org are in my opinion the best traits.

But you don't need the most optimal traits to win at any level, anyway. I personally enjoy building wonders more than conquering the globe, so I play industrious leaders like Bismarck even if they aren't as good as Hannibal or Darius.

Industrious is very good. I've recently moved up to Prince myself, and have been using industrious straight to achieve culture victories. I've been able to achieve culture victories with the Incan at around 1850. About 1950 with other industrial leaders.

try Hannibal he was the first leader i chose when moving noble-> prince and prince->monarch

On Higher levels I prefer ORG or FIN. But that fits my style of play. There is no best combination of traits. They are sometimes map situational or opposing civ situational.

Try many combos and you will find what youl like/are comfortable with. Some combination will surprise you. :D

IMHO, any trait can be good as long as you thoroughly make use of its bonuses. That said, there certainly are traits that are easier to use and, therefore, might seem better choices -- although in practice, I guess they're almost equally as good provided you have a suitable strategy.

Financial is an obvious choice, as you said yourself. Simple and with clear benefits throughout the game without requiring much strategy-bending. I also like Philosophical, for continuous GP birth, or Aggressive if I'm in a more impatient mood. But, all in all, I guess what it comes down to is to choose it according to your type of approach and preference as to the kind of gameplay you enjoy...

Arguably, it gets better on medium-high levels: Without it, the AI might nab wonders you'd rather have yourself. Eventually, there might be a cutoff point where you only go for the bare essentials.

Naturally, it also depends a little on the starting location/world details. Catherine's trait combination for example is excellent if your neighbours are neither Creative nor warlike.
