Best Wonder

hmm...
I'm not able to name the best one, but the imho best one's ;)

Pyramides - save a really big bunch of shields
Adam Smith Tradings - saves a really big bunch of money ;)
SETI - really bunch of beakers ;)
if I need to go into a harsh war, the Statue is really hepful to get into Fundy ;I

And the happy-wonders are pretty important in order to keep you ppl working at non-Fundy&high difficulty ;)
That's what I am remembering right now ;)

No wonders are essential, and almost all are useful. If I had to pick only one to have at the start of the game, and have only one for the whole game, I would pick statue-of-liberty. It gives you two useful government types(fundamentalism & communism) early, along with no delay in switching. Perhaps this would be a good GOTM game. We had a similar one some time ago.

It is hard to not pick Mike's.

I like the thoughts about the Statue listed above for the reasons listed above -- many turns of non-Despotism at the start could be wicked.

A thought to be explored for me would be Marco's (UN) -- I'm still picking up on the nuances with this one -- maps (when learned) and techs (when desired). :scan: Hard not to like.

Depends on settings realy.

GL is perfect in a 7-way diplogame like this .

In a duel either Magalans or HG depending on landsettings.

In SP you dont need wonders to kick the living **** out of AI. :p

My favourite is Leo's (Leonardo's Workshop), invention is a pre-req for gunpowder so if you get invention then start on gunpowder then you will usually have all your defending units upgraded to Musketeers pretty soon after you get gunpowder, also if you plan for getting Leo's by building a different wonder then switching once you get invention you can build it before you get gunpowder.

Leos is the best. Saves you building new armies & engineers. If it wasn't there i'd probably still have warriors defending my cities during the space race :D .

Recently stopped bothering delaying automobile to get AEGIS tho. Superhighways are just too good to miss

After getting conscription, there is no point in delaying automobile! The only benefit from Leo's by then is to upgrade "captured" units and thats not worth delaying superhighways, mass production, and recycling, all important and necessary advances.

hence why i don't do it anymore! :p Doesn't automobile give population pollution to cities anyway? So it's not an all good technology always

It does, but the superhighways still make it worth it, and IIRC you still need automobile to get mass transit (which is the only cure to population pollution).:)
