Unfortunately unless we get a huge shocker it is likely that Civ7’s base game will not feature either Germany/Prussia or Britain/England (albeit the Normans are based mostly off of Norman England). I’m still hoping for Britain but I wouldn’t be surprised by Germany. If I remember correctly I don’t think either of them have missed a civ base game before as well.

If we count the Normans as England, then I would say none of them will miss it.

It seems like every 5 days from now we'll see a new Civ, 17th, 22nd, 27th, 1st and the 6th. There'd be no point in do the reveals when content creators will likely have early access by then

New leader? not really.
but Zheng Ce to lead Siam is a no do to me.

I believe that Potato McWhiskey has stated that Youtubers are allowed to start posting videos with their copies on the 16th, so either we're getting a LOT of reveals in the next few days, or we'll be getting Game Guides well past that point.

fair point. I do still think they'll still try to reveal all the options before launch. They really have stated they want 7 to be open to new players and part of that means informing new players of the games content before it releases. It can take a while for new players to be engrained in the community on Twitch and YouTube.

The press will likely be limited in what they can reveal (ie, only antiquity, can’t open the civilopedia, etc), and the game build itself may be blocked to prevent leaks as well.

I thought about that but that would be a lot of trust for them to put in the community. Not saying they can't be trusted but there's always that chance that eagle eyed players catch a glimpse of something

No Britain is craaaaaazy to me honestly. Like, I don't personally care, but I never thought there was a chance for them to not be a launch civ.

Damn I guess they really have revealled all the civs in some way so far. Meji for the Switch trailer, Mughals for India's path, Buganda in Egypt's potential path and some German / German Adjacent civ if people's observations are correct. I mean that still leaves one more space but given that so far the prior 2 ages only have 2 European civs each and that in the Modern age we have 2 European civs (and maybe 1 more on the wat) and 2 Civs of European Colonial States adding Britain would be very limiting to the majority of other paths.

Heck Hawai'i and to an extent the Inca are still complete isolates at the moment. At the very least the Romans, Normans and Americans have some reasonable tie to the British Isles in some way. Either the Devs will give in early if they wan't to appease their British audience which I imagine is quite substantial or they'll work on fleshing out neglected Civs to make their paths feel more satisfying to the general audience. Both choices aren't bad from the Devs' point of view.

Also Siam - revealed during the Modern Era stream, Ashoka was leading it.

Meaning there are no slots left for speculation besides the Germany/Prussia vs Britain showdown.

Is there a possibility it's neither of them? I get that Bradenburg Gate is a modern wonder but we saw a Pyramid of the Sun wonder in Antiquity and no Teotihuacan Civ. Only point I can think that supports this is that one of the DLC packs adds Civs but not Wonders meaning they'll likely correlate to the wonders already in game. If it is one of them though my money is on Prussia/Germany because the only British wonder we've seen so far fits the Exploration age more than Germany's more Modern one

Hopefully its something else than Britain or Germany, those arent really important civs in world history.

If Catherine is the example to follow then the other leaked leader, Frederick the Great, will also come with his civ, Prussia.

But yeah, a civ game without Britain is wild.
