Better Main Menu 3

[Cyberdisc]

A simple mod that hides or moves most main menu elements for a cleaner appearance and randomizes the background.

• Hid the news/ad carousel.
• Hid the message of the day.
• Hid the profile header.
  • Profile can be accessed under new "Your Progress" button.
  • Friends list can be accessed under new "Social Menu" button (hidden unless a 2K Account is linked).
  • Giftbox can be accessed under new "Rewards" button listed under Addition Content.
• Hid the 2K icon and connection icon.
  • 2K Account portal and linking can now be accessed under new "2K Account" button.
• Changed the background masks to reveal more of the background image.
  • Background image will now be randomized among the 30 available Civilization backgrounds.

To install just extract the mod into your \AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII\Mods folder.

PS: A request of mine if you could, would be to make it so 'Continue' actually pulls your most recent save, and not just your most recent auto save. Idk why it doesn't work like that already.

Oh a very weird bug to report by the way, is that this mod seemed to break HDR for me in full-screen mode. I turned it on and off to verify, and this mod was the only thing I changed. Switching to windowed fixed it, but fullscreen it put a weird tint over the whole screen.

Does it persist through the whole game or is HDR only broken in the main menu? The only thing I think could be causing it the mask being used on the background to darken it.

Yeah I do think it's related to the mask, since I noticed it's lighter with the mod too. It persists but I just started playing in windowed to get around it lol

Im curious if it is possible to only show the most recently played leader on the main menu. I find it more immersive to be greeted by my current leader every time I fire up the game.

Works irrespective of save games. Make sure the old version is deleted first.

I have been careful about that, no matter what I do I am stuck with the original menu, maybe it's conflicting with something else, not sure.

Version 2 - Manage mods directly from the main menu!

• Adds a new "Manage Mods" button that takes you directly to the mods menu, compatible with TCS Improved Mod Page (recommended but not required)
• Renamed "Add-ons" Menu to "Extras" as it no longer contains the mods menu
• Technical: Refactored the code (wip)
  • For mod makers: Class MainMenu in main-menu.js is now exported

• Fixed the news/ad carousel from reappearing after waiting on the main menu for a few seconds
• Switched from semver versioning to iterative versioning as the game doesn't recognize numbers with decimals in them

I like the Mod. But i modded the mod.
I am not quite sure, whether i should hide the Box in the right bottom edge. Because i may oversee an patch for the momement it is in.
The upper Right i prefer for having two more Points in the Menu-List.

If you could make an Better Main Menu with the choice of a light Version like this,
I would enjoy two additional Points.
( hide Gifbox + reduce the size of the element right Bottom)
